There’s a spot, a few miles away, where you turn left, and look out from the top of the bluff at the bay. It’s how you know you’re home. After time away or a long drive, the view is the feeling of peace personified. Even in the car, the air breathes fresher. Tonight, the sun has recently set and the sky is pink over the dark water.

The world has been loud this week. My head always feels so loud. I think that’s why I’m meant to be here, where it’s quiet. It’s easier to find my equilibrium.

I wish a photo could capture it. The way I can see the water ripple from my window, the trees like shadows, the sky a watercolor painting, the lake a hundred memories. The picture doesn’t come close, so I capture it in my memory instead.

Home. Home. Home.

With Love,

Natalie
