I’m home after a three-day jaunt around southern Wisconsin (Madison and Milwaukee). It’s nice to switch things up, see friends and family briefly, and see Spider-Man of course (I saw it again on my way home today to process all my feelings – I have many, no spoilers yet).

But it’s nice to be home.

I haven’t been sleeping well and I’m looking forward to being in my own bed tonight with no urgency to get up in the morning. I’m looking forward to writing tomorrow after not working on my story for a few days. I’m looking forward to seeing my friend Zia who will be arriving in Door County tomorrow for the week (what a gift that her parents moved near me so that when she comes home to visit she also is coming home to visit me).

My mom and I have a glass of wine together to briefly catch up after not seeing each other for two weeks (their vacation and my short trip overlapped) and we watch Spider-Man 2 together. Yes, that is the second time I’ve seen it in the last week. Yes, I have watched eight total Spider-Man films in the last week (I skipped over Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3 on this rewatch). Who’s counting? But Mom’s doing her homework and getting her multiverse vibes in before we go see the new movie on Christmas Eve. (Yes, that means I’ll have seen it three times in theaters but I saw Far From Home five times in theaters so I’m not even close to done).

Look, I know I already have a very cool Spider-Man tattoo, but should I get more? (Yes? Maybe? I know, I’m still in the heat of my feelings but I kind of want the cliche “with great power comes great responsibility” wrapped around my heart.) (Tattoos are precious real estate, don’t worry, no rash decisions.)

I am going to see if any fanfiction has caught up with the movie canon yet . . . and hopefully empty my brain enough to sleep soundly tonight.

With Love,

Natalie
