It snows in April and, like every year, it is a surprise
Dropping below freezing, another false spring gone
But – I can hear the waves
I can see them too
The sun sets later
And the leaves on the trees have not grown in
So I have a perfect view
As the unfrozen bay crashes to shore
It’s not the cold that wears you down
It’s the darkness
But light is something we can control
The switches, the bulbs
The lantern lit in our soul
That we must hold aloft
When we are weary and alone
I pull the Hermit today
Reversed
And it could mean a thousand things
Take more time to understand your heart
And be at peace with what find
Or you’ve spent enough days by yourself
It is time, at last, to shine a light on someone else
I am a comfortable hermit
But comfortable isn’t the only story
I want in my life
With Love,
Natalie
