I’m in Des Moines! A sentence I never thought I’d say with an exclamation point, but my best friends Lin & Cara are here so I’m trying to give Iowa another shot. We are having a Halloween party tonight — just the three of us. How we generally like it anyway and also we’re in a pandemic and no one should be having actual parties. We are in costume, opening a bottle of wine, and have pizza and cookie cake in our future. There’s a spooky playlist as our soundtrack.
Our costumes this year feature:
- Lin as Tom Holland’s (pre-tech) Spider-Man
- Cara as Jamie from The Haunting of Bly Manor
- And me as my D&D character, Reese (from an urban fantasy 1970s setting)
