A first since pre-pandemic time for me: I went to see a live show today. With masks required and vaccine cards checked at the door, I said yes when my mom asked if I wanted to attend a musical put on by Third Avenue Playhouse at a recently renovated theater in Sturgeon Bay.
It was strange seeing a show again, but the two-man musical was entertaining, relatively short, and felt very safe. In the matinee show, we had the entire back row to ourselves in the small theater and the staff was diligent about checking vaccine cards with IDs and everyone kept their masks on. It made me miss going to the movies, but most cinemas aren’t taking the same precautions. I’ll have to bite the bullet eventually so here’s to hoping the world feels a lot safer in December when the new Spider-Man movie premiers
Mom and I laughed at how we were both strangely tired afterward on the drive home. It’s been so long since we’ve had events like this. Going to the theater. A little slice of normalcy that felt very out of the ordinary.
With Love,
Natalie
