One of the best parts about being a writer is that your friends are also writers and you get to read their work and those stories are very fucking good. I read my friend Lin’s manuscript today. One of their manuscripts. Their first book The Best Liars in Riverview releases this spring but the story I read today will be their second middle-grade book, tbd on title and release.
It’s such a privilege to curl up on the couch and read a story cover to cover (or google doc from top to bottom). Especially a very well-written, voicey queer story that gave me a lot of feelings and made me cry. I am just so grateful their writing is in the world. Sincerely. God damn. It’s so good. Ever since they let me read drafts back in college together, I’ve been eating it up and I’m so glad the world is about to see what they’ve been missing with Lin’s books coming to print.
