Flexibility. I appreciate the autonomy I have in my job, especially today. Through some poor meeting planning and using my short break to go for a run, I ended up not getting a real lunch and dehydrating as the afternoon went on. By 4 pm when I was slated to start my independent work for the day (meetings, meetings, meetings) I had a pounding headache and had to log off. What I thought would be a half-hour to reset ended up being a few hours coaxing my head and body back to functioning.

After some water, food, and a little self-care (and aspirin), I logged back in from my bed this evening to work for a while. It was so much faster overall than trying to push through with a headache earlier and I’m still ending the day feeling prepared (well, as much as I could be) for the day tomorrow.

I hope work culture continues to move in this direction (in industries where it’s possible). Letting people manage their time (their life, their health) and focus on the outcomes. I’m grateful that was my situation today.

With Love,

Natalie
