It only takes fifteen minutes.

I raced to the door as the sun went down. Daylight dwindling. There’s only so much of starting at a screen for a nine-hour zoom meeting you can take before your brain feels starved of oxygen and thought. We started early so that I didn’t have enough light to take advantage of in the morning and I knew I had to move. Just a little. Just for fifteen minutes. Even five.

I got twenty. A short walk down to the icy bay. Through the quiet Evergreen Road. Listening to Brené Brown. Trying to think about anything else for a moment besides everything that’s waiting for me.

It’s a lesson that bears repeating: when you need to reset, go outside and move. Just a little. Just enough. No matter the weather.

My head tells me I am done with screen time of all sorts today. But I have a fire and a good book. And, with luck, a good night’s sleep ahead.

With Love,

Natalie
