How many times can you describe
The light filtering through the trees
While you walk a pine needle-covered trail?
Dozens, many, infinite, as much as it takes
Because the sight is never any less beautiful
I walk the same trails
Sidestepping spiders
Naming the trees I remember
(Beech, Maple, Birch, Red Pine)
The scent of the wind off the lake
Grounds me, moves me forward
How many times can I describe
The way the water and the woods side by side
Sets my heart aglow?
Dozens, many, infinite, as much as it takes
Because the feeling is never any less true
With Love,
Natalie
