As someone who likes to own a lot of books and never get rid of them, I have once again encountered a shelving issue. I’ve started piling books that don’t fit on my bedroom bookshelf (the built-in bookshelves in the living room are reserved for nonfiction and DVDs for now). I could have probably piled for a while, but I’ve decided to reread Rick Riordan’s series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the sequel series The Heroes of Olympus. And okay, yes, I already owned three out of five of the books in the first series and all of them on audiobook, but I selfishly wanted a pretty matching set so Merry Christmas to me. And rereading the second series was a clear sign I should own them in my brain. . .

And well . . . I might have bought Rick Riordan’s other three series that I haven’t read yet.

So I have some books (like 21 new books, oops) coming into my possession and definitely not enough space on my shelves or room for another giant bookshelf in my condo. My solution was ordering a cheap, smaller corner bookshelf from Target that I could fit easily in my bedroom. It could be my Rick Riordan bookshelf.

This whole post is just a secret brag that I put a small bookshelf together today. It’s not a big deal for anyone else in the world but every time I have to use screws and fit them into predrilled slots it’s a bit of an ordeal. This one went smoother than usual by standards and look — a simple bookshelf!

I’m trying to have a simple weekend to reset. Just running, and cleaning, and building a little bookshelf. Deep breaths.

With Love,
Natalie
