We played Betrayal at House on the Hill last night, one of my favorite board gams where you collaboratively build out a haunted house until one person is revealed as the betrayer. But this time we ultra leaned into the aesthetic:
- Nightime
- All lights off
- Two candles lit
- Red wine
- Gathered around the coffee table
- Each tile or card we crew we had to lean close to the candlelight to read
- We used our creepy voices for the creepy things that happen
- I don’t know if I ever want to play this game in the daylight again?
Life is more fun when you lean into it, and that includes themed board games.
