My brother gave me a fantastic podcast recommendation last week: Batman Unburied. It’s a Spotify-exclusive podcast that is less podcast and more radio play. So just voice acting and sound editing to tell a ten-episode Batman story. It features a lot of great actors (including Jason Isaacs as Alfred and Hasan Minhaj as The Riddler).
Fair warning, this is a Batman story and inherently pretty dark. There is definitely some body horror, especially in the opening episode (they’re going after a villain they call The Harvester who’s stealing people’s organs, so yeah).
But I was engrossed — it made my drive home from Madison last week fly by. I hope there is a trend of more storytelling in this format. They’ve already confirmed there will be a season two of Batman Unburied.
