Home sweet home after my whirlwind weekend in NYC. It was lovely to spend time in my best friend’s world: exploring Queens and Brooklyn, eating great food, catching up on life. This summer has been tough and the last few weeks hit another awful crescendo, so this trip was a welcome, fun distraction.

I got in a lot of steps, I went to two great bookstores (Greenlight Bookstore and The Ripped Bodice), I saw my obligatory Broadway musical (Six), I went to a lunchtime barbeque and, later, an evening birthday party that had one of the more unique party games I’ve ever experienced (it involved a tent set up in a bedroom and a bunch of labeled mystery boxes). I drank wine.

Z and I wore matching Target pajamas because they are the best.

Another blessing: travel was easy today. Unrushed. Predictable. I was tired but I started one of my new books and read the whole trip (it’s very good so far . . . The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer).

A great weekend, but I’m grateful to be home and cuddling with my cats tonight.

With Love,
Natalie
