I traveled to Austin today for a short work trip (I return home Wednesday). Luckily I made it okay although I cut it really close in. Chicago. On my first flight they had to do a lengthy de-icing process that delayed us by a half hour that turned my 50-minute layover into a 20-minute layover which is . . . stressful. I actually got to do the full run through the airport as I made my way from the H terminal in O’Hare to the very last gate in the L terminal. Sweaty, thirsty, and badly having to use the restroom . . . but I made the plane just in time. Thank god my cardio is in good shape from all the running lately.
I’m staying at the South Congress Hotel for two nights and I spent this evening at the Summer House restaurant with my leadership team vibing and talking shop. A three-and-a-half-hour-long dinner later and I’m safely back in my room for the night before our all-day planning meeting tomorrow. It’s a long journey for a one-day meeting, but I admit it is nice to see my colleagues in person — as much as I love virtual connection nothing beats being actually face-to-face.
I’ve also been promised Torchy’s Tacos for lunch tomorrow.
With Love,
Natalie
