I’m hitting a few of my Austin favorites today. This morning, I visited the Alamo Drafthouse with my friends to see the new Pixar movie, Lightyear. I sipped my Diet Coke, ate Pineapple Upside Down Donut Holes, and enjoyed the bliss of being waited on in a dark theater where everyone really cares about the movie. I love the Alamo Drafthouse. It’s what I miss the most about living in Austin.
This afternoon, I took a walk down to Town Lake and followed the familiar trail I’d once run on. I could see my old apartment building across the water. So much has changed. These were impactful years and I welcomed the reflection as I walked and acclimated myself to the heat.
This evening I’m meeting friends for a small birthday party at Vigilante, the board game bar. It used to be my go-to spot for hanging out and the food was always great. Grilled cheese sliders and pretzel bites and boozy milkshakes.
I’m grateful I’m feeling well enough to socialize and get nostalgic.
With Love,
Natalie
