I made it to Austin. Travel was blessedly smooth sailing. My health is at a solid 92%. My dad even met me during my short layover in O’hare and brought me lunch. And now I’m in a downtown hotel with a great few of the capital, winding down after dinner at Moonshine with friends.

Moonshine was one of the first great restaurants I found when I first moved to Austin and remains the shining example of incredible chicken and waffles. We were able to eat outside and right where the fan blew on me the whole meal. I even spent two hours nursing a glass of cabernet.

I was supposed to stay with friends this weekend but their HVAC broke and in 100-degree Austin weather that makes a house unlivable. So I’m improvising with hotel rooms instead. And y’all know how much I love a hotel room. (A lot still. I like the novelty).

Now that I’m here, I’m really looking forward to the weekend. Making plans with friends to see a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, and organizing a hike and pool day on Sunday. Doing some event planning in-between it all. I’m so grateful I’m feeling well enough to enjoy it and want to be social. I’m also looking forward to crashing and sleeping in after a hot shower.

With Love,

Natalie
