Arthur darling, mending, clear-eyed. Not eating or drinking yet. His poor little body doesn’t have much left in it but to sleep and rest. He’s getting better, it seems, though the vet says to call tomorrow if he’s still not eating. He does need to eat something, but when I put the water or a treat close to him he gags, poor child.

I guess he won’t be getting a rabies vaccine again. It’s not like it was his first one, but who knows. If a car ride and a vet visit weren’t already traumatic enough, then this.

He’ll need more of a bath than what I did for him yesterday, but I let him sleep. I wash the towels and blankets he leaves behind. I let him burrow in my bed all afternoon, his safe place. Merlin keeps him company and eats the treats I leave for his brother.

My weekend to-do list now includes shampooing my carpet. It was time anyway, I guess.

With Love,

Natalie
