A quiet day, my second day of twenty-seven. Where I read in bed, run errands, and then finish writing my brother’s wedding ceremony. Then I go outside.
This is what tranquility looks like to me. Reading good fiction outside by the water (in this case my apartment pool).
I put my book down, lean back, and look up at the trees. I close my eyes for a few minutes and listen to the sound of country music from a speaker and kids playing in the pool. I hear the lyrics to Strawberry Wine and I tear up for a moment. The song makes me nostalgic. The song itself is nostalgic. I don’t mind getting a little watery over it and then I go back to my book, happy.
With Love,
Natalie
