I set my reading goal at 100 books again this year and came in right under the wire. As always, it turns out there are a lot of things you can do instead of read books. Like read fanfiction. Or watch Dungeons & Dragons live-play shows. Or watch video reviews of strollers. Still, 100 books read! Over 30,000 pages, according to my Goodreads tracker.
The books ranged from some short manga books to Stephen King’s 1,100+ page book It. I had a handful of rereads, usually to help me out of reading slumps, but also a good number of new books that I really enjoyed.
- 59 books were fiction; 41 were nonfiction.
- 55 were physical books. 45 were audiobooks.
A few of my favorite new-to-me fiction books from the year:
- The Will Darling Adventures by KJ Charles (trilogy)
- The Other Merlin by Robyn Schneider
- The Best Liars in Riverview by Lin Thompson
- The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochran
- Icebreaker by A.L. Graziadei
- Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz (book 2)
- I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston
- Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma by Preeti Chhibber
- So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens
- Heat Wave by T.J. Klune (book 3 in trilogy)
- The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas
- A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske
A few of my favorite new-to-me nonfiction books from the year:
- Atlas of the Heart by Dr. Brené Brown
- The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown
- Unbound by Tarana Burke
- Mythos and Heroes by Stephen Fry
- How to be Perfect by Michael Schur
- The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
- Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman
- Good Inside by Dr. Becky Kennedy
- Nonviolent Communication by Marshall B. Rosenberg

I’ve set the goal at 100 again for 2023 . . . we’ll see how it goes!
With Love,
Natalie
